· 16 min read
This release adds a player-first Fleet view to the Display Dashboard, sharing and groups for Vū Intelligence sessions, a structured Vū Intelligence session report, a redesigned Experiences page, better image generation and editing in Vū AI, and a large set of new video models. It also includes a large set of fixes for canvas casting, the Vū Studio Player desktop app, and Display Dashboard player status.
Planned maintenance window: Scheduled for the afternoon on release day. There should be no interruption to website availability or your online account.
Highlights
- A player-first Fleet view in the Display Dashboard. The new Fleet view lists every player you can access, one row per player, including players that are not in any group. Each player's displays appear as an expandable sub-row. Filter by status, group, warnings, or players in no group, sort and choose columns, and share a filtered view by its link. Expand a row to see live status, displays and resolution, app version, and last seen. You can act on one player (sleep or wake, clear, restart the player app, identify, send logs, rename) or select several and act on them together. (VU-3144) Learn how to use the Fleet view →
- Share Vū Intelligence sessions you create yourself. A Vū Intelligence session you create manually can now be shared by email. People you add get the same controls you have. A Vū Intelligence session created while you are working in a team is shared with the rest of that team automatically, and a view-only role lets people see the insights, mind map, and transcript without contributing audio or changing settings. (VU-3242) Learn how to share a Vū Intelligence session →
- Groups replace breakout mode in Vū Intelligence sessions. The Devices tab is always available. Add devices and groups at any time; a device that is not in a group contributes to the main Vū Intelligence session. Each group gets a hub node on the Vū Intelligence session mind map from the moment it is created, and a group button next to Record lets one device switch which group it records to. Devices can be paused and resumed by the host. You can switch what a screen or device shows (mind map, Flow, or Cards) without touching it, and Share control gives a link that lets someone else run the Vū Intelligence session's devices without signing in. Invite people is now Add devices, and a Vū Intelligence session can be renamed from its Settings or from the Vū Intelligence sessions list. (VU-3278, VU-3276) See how devices and groups work →
- A structured Vū Intelligence session report. When a Vū Intelligence session ends, it produces a structured Vū Intelligence session report in place of the free-form white paper. (VU-3238) See how the Vū Intelligence session report works →
- A redesigned Experiences page. With no Experiences Session selected, the Experiences page now matches the rest of the app: the app background, a single header bar with search, Experiences Session, and display controls, and compact cards with a thumbnail, creator, and date. Experiences Sessions are edited in a side panel and can still restyle the page with their own background, logo, and title. The app navigation is hidden by default on this page and can be shown from the page menu. (VU-3330) Take a tour of the Experiences page →
- Better image generation and editing in Vū AI. GPT Image 2 is now the default image model for anyone who has not chosen one in Settings → Models; a model you picked yourself is kept. Vū AI can now use a different model for a single request when your default is a poor fit, and tells you when it does. Image edits can also use several reference images at once, such as a style reference, a logo to place, or a second photo to combine, and an edit can change the image's shape. (VU-3327, VU-3329) See how to choose a model →
- More video models in Vū AI. Video generation now uses Veo 3.1 Fast by default. New video models are available: Veo 3.1, Veo 3.1 Lite, Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0, PixVerse 6, Luma Ray 3.2, Wan 2.7, Hailuo 02, P-Video 2 Pro, and LTX 2.5 Fast. Vū AI can recommend a better-suited model for a request. You can now edit an existing video, and turn an image into a transition video by giving both a start and an end image; either end can also be a video. Video generation is now priced by the number of seconds of video requested, instead of a flat price per video. (VU-3230) Learn how to generate video →
Improvements
- Choose which AI model Vū AI uses for each kind of generation from your model preferences in Settings. (VU-1087) See where to set your model preferences →
- A new dictation mic next to Send in Vū AI chat and in a Vū Intelligence session's chat types your words into the message box as you speak; nothing is sent until you press Send. (VU-3361) Learn how to dictate a message →
- Each Vū Intelligence session can have a folder. Choose it in the Vū Intelligence session's Settings or when creating it; if you don't choose one, a folder is created the first time the Vū Intelligence session saves something. The report, dashboard, insight images, and anything made in the Vū Intelligence session's chat are saved there, PDFs and PowerPoint decks in the folder are used as reference material, and an Open folder button opens it. (VU-3106) Learn about a Vū Intelligence session's folder →
- Ask Vū AI to regenerate a Vū Intelligence session's report or dashboard from its insights, for example with a different focus or audience. (VU-3112) See how to work with the report →
- Microsites can save data: a page can store values shared by every visitor, and forms can send submissions that only the microsite's owner can see, in a new Site data tab in the microsite editor. The owner can be notified by email when a submission arrives. (VU-3111) Learn how to collect form submissions →
- Microsites generated by Vū AI are more visual, with more distinctive design and motion. (VU-3343) See how Vū AI designs a microsite →
- On the Experiences page, the creator and date are hidden on experiences by default. Turn on Show attribution in an experience's settings, or set it for every experience from an Experiences Session's appearance settings. The passive-mode PIN prompt now opens with the PIN field focused and shows a number pad on phones and tablets. (VU-3368) Learn how to show or hide attribution →
- Each group on the Display Dashboard's Groups tab has an Actions menu to wake, sleep, identify, restart, or clear every player in the group. (VU-3318) Learn how to use group actions →
- On the Display Dashboard, Shift+click adds or removes a player from the selection and Ctrl+A (Cmd+A on Mac) selects every player. Clicking a display no longer opens the Remote. (VU-3362) See how to select several players →
- BrightSign players can now be restarted and can send logs to support from Vū Studio, and recover on their own if their display content stops responding. (VU-3326) Learn how to restart a BrightSign player →
- Web assets that use a camera, such as photo booths, can use the camera attached to a Vū Studio Player desktop app. (VU-3303) Learn how to use a camera in web assets →
- The Vū Studio Player desktop app hides the mouse cursor when it isn't moving. (VU-3335) Learn more →
- The built-in YouTube music channels now play on the Vū Studio Player desktop app. (VU-3166) See the music channels →
- Add your own tags to Vū Intelligence sessions, reuse earlier tags, and filter and search Vū Intelligence sessions by tag. (VU-3060) Learn how to tag Vū Intelligence sessions →
- Vū AI can list your Vū Intelligence session tags and find Vū Intelligence sessions by one or more tags. (VU-3253) See how Vū AI finds a Vū Intelligence session →
- A new Cycle views option for a Vū Intelligence session's devices rotates an unattended screen through the mind map, Flow, and Cards views on a timer (15 seconds to 2 minutes). Touching the screen pauses the rotation. (VU-3246) Learn how to cycle views →
- The Delete session content… option in a Vū Intelligence session's Settings clears that Vū Intelligence session's transcript, insights, mind map, and suggested-action results and returns it to not started, while keeping its title, tags, and settings. Use it to run a real test in the Vū Intelligence session you will use for an event. (VU-3277) Learn how to reset a Vū Intelligence session →
- People who join a Vū Intelligence session on a phone with an Add their mic link can now see the mind map, insights, and transcript, and can still record. (VU-3313) Learn about recording on a phone →
- The Vū Intelligence session mind map supports pinch-to-zoom on touch screens, including two-hand pinch on large kiosks. (VU-3325) Learn how to zoom the mind map →
- Microsites are now served from
sites.vu.studio, so a microsite link opens in a browser tab instead of the installed Vū Studio app. Organizations can also have microsites served from their own subdomain. (VU-3216) See where microsites are hosted → - The microsite editor is more flexible when moving blocks and building text-over-image (hero) sections, and Vū AI handles layout edits more reliably.
