Vū Studio Release — November 20, 2025

We have been hard at work on exciting changes to Vū Studio and SceneForge and those updates are headed your way!

The upcoming planned maintenance window is scheduled for the afternoon on release day.

Improvements and New Features​

  • VU-683 Ability to select a custom thumbnail for any non-image asset
  • VU-1590 Sony Camera API Module integration
  • VU-1615 Local files feature should find sub folders and display them in the UI
  • VU-1826 Pool and use appropriately sized render textures for performance gains
  • VU-1841 Ability to keep web player ID even if browser cache is cleared
  • VU-1881 Remove Team Dashboard and move content into Account page
  • VU-1907 Allow users to select a folder thumbnail from the Asset Selection Modal
  • VU-1935 Create a first login modal popup that contains privacy and usage info warnings
  • VU-1969 Allow users to launch applications on the media server from within Vū Studio
  • VU-1987 Remember user image duration for present mode between sessions
  • VU-2007 Sony FR7 Camera Stream added to remote preview

Defects Addressed​

  • VU-1678 Connection icon and toast disconnect messages do not need to be shown on intentional disconnects
  • VU-1862 Scheduled Themes not playing sometimes
  • VU-1863 When selecting a new Theme in playback dashboard, all displays should not flip back to the splash screen
  • VU-1865 Sometimes mixed images and videos in a folder in Present mode on auto playback would pause and stop playing
  • VU-1875 Remote showing black overlay when using local files and no thumbnails until casting the first image
  • VU-1883 500 error when attempting to share licenses when quantity is zero
  • VU-1895 Web player sporadically fails to receive commands, or results in black screens
  • VU-1906 Manage page doesn't always show correct license count when in a team
  • VU-1912 When an overlay is selected with a scene playing, and then you switch to a single asset, the overlay is cleared
  • VU-1913 Manage license page not showing correct used license count
  • VU-1914 When casting an asset after a scene, the top layer of the scene sometimes persists on screen
  • VU-1915 Sleep toggle state doesn't match when using the web player
  • VU-1917 When playing an asset after exiting playback from within an overlay, overlay attributes don't always match
  • VU-1932 Allocating web players on a team doesn't correctly assign ownership to the new owner
