App Home Screen

When you open Vū Studio at one.vu.studio, you land on the Home Screen — an app-style navigation hub — instead of going straight into the environment's asset library. From here you can jump to any area of Vū Studio, search across your content, open your pinned shortcuts, and pick up where you left off.

Layout

The Redesigned Home Screen

From the September 2026 release, the Home Screen at one.vu.studio/home is laid out like this, from top to bottom:

1. Greeting and clock. Welcome back, followed by your first name and the prompt What would you like to create or explore today? On a computer, the current time and date are shown on the right.

2. Search bar. A large search box, Search experiences, assets, maps, templates…, with the release-highlights chip next to it (see below). Press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) to jump to it. As you type, it suggests matching pages, folders, and assets. Select a suggestion to go there. To ask a question instead, choose the Ask AI row at the top of the suggestions. This opens a new Vū AI chat with your question already filled in. Suggested prompts below the search bar also start a new Vū AI chat.

3. Apps. Tiles for the areas of Vū Studio, with a view menu at the top right of the section:

   • Bookmarks: your bookmarked tiles.
   • All Apps: every destination you have access to.
   • Creator Apps: the tools for building content.
   • Re-order bookmarks: puts the tiles into reorder mode. Drag the tiles into the order you want, then click Done reordering.

   With both Bookmarks and All Apps turned on, your bookmarks come first, followed by the rest of the apps. At least one view is always turned on. On a computer, the section shows two rows of tiles. Click the Show all apps button next to the view menu to see the rest, and Collapse apps to go back to two rows. On a phone, swipe the row of tiles sideways.

4. Recents. A row of cards for the things you opened most recently, such as folders and pages. Each card shows the item's thumbnail or icon, its title, and how long ago you opened it (for example Just now, 2h ago, or Yesterday). Scroll through them with the arrow buttons, by swiping, or with your mouse wheel. On a phone, Recents stays at the bottom of the screen. If you haven't opened anything yet, the section is hidden.

Bookmarking a tile. Hover an app tile or a Recents card and click Bookmark. To remove a bookmark, hover the tile and click Remove bookmark (you are asked to confirm). On a touch screen, long-press a tile to bookmark it, or long-press a bookmarked tile to start reordering.

Release highlights chip. When a new release is out, a chip next to the search bar reads Read the month release highlights. Click it to see what's new, or click its × (Dismiss for this release) to hide it until the next release. On a phone, the chip appears just below the top navigation bar. If Vū AI is turned off for your account, the chip, the Ask AI row, and the suggested prompts don't appear.

Earlier Layout

Before the September 2026 redesign, the Home Screen was organized as follows.

The Home Screen is a single, centered launcher with no side rails — just the top navigation bar and the page content. It has four main parts, top to bottom:

1. Welcome hero — a "Welcome back" greeting with a short prompt, plus a Customize Home control for tailoring the page.

2. Search bar — a command-style search box for finding experiences, assets, folders, maps, and pages. Press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) from anywhere to jump straight to it. Start typing to see matches; results include both app destinations and live matches from your folders and assets. Selecting a result navigates you there.

3. App tiles — quick-launch tiles for the main areas of Vū Studio, including:

   • Asset Library
   • Experiences
   • Canvas
   • Display Dashboard
   • Connected Devices
   • Settings
   • Wall Connections

   Two chips at the top of the grid switch what the grid shows: Bookmarks (your pinned shortcuts) and All Apps (every destination). The grid shows the first several tiles with a Show all toggle to expand the rest.

4. Recently Accessed — a strip of the things you opened most recently (see below).

The exact set of tiles you see depends on your plan and permissions — feature-gated areas you don't have access to are hidden.

Pinned Shortcuts

You can customize the Home Screen by pinning shortcuts to the items you use most, so your landing page reflects your own workflow. Pinned shortcuts appear under the Bookmarks chip on the Home Screen, and the first few also appear as links in the top navigation bar.

To pin a shortcut:

• On the Home Screen, hover a recommended app tile or a Recently Accessed card and click its pin icon.
• To pin a folder, use the folder's context menu in the Library and choose Pin folder. Pinned folders appear on the Home Screen and in a collapsible Pinned section at the top of the Library's side navigation.

To remove a shortcut: hover a pinned tile and click the × (you'll be asked to confirm), or choose Unpin folder from a folder's context menu.

To reorder shortcuts: use the Re-order control next to the tiles (or press and hold a tile on a touch screen) to enter reorder mode, then drag the tiles into the order you want. Your arrangement is saved.

tip

On a touch screen, long-press a recommended tile to pin it, or long-press a pinned tile to enter reorder mode — a regular tap always just opens the tile.

Recently Accessed

The Recently Accessed strip gives you a fast way back to what you were most recently working with. It shows your most recent items — such as folders and pages — as a horizontal row of cards, along with a Create New card at the end.

Each card shows a thumbnail (for folders) or the item's icon, its title, and a relative "time ago" label so you can see at a glance how recently you used it. Click a card to reopen the item. Hover a card and click its pin icon to promote it to a pinned shortcut.

Recently Accessed is populated automatically as you move around Vū Studio — there's nothing to set up. If you haven't opened anything yet, the strip is hidden until you do.
