PowerPoint Presentations
Vū Studio includes a native PPTX rendering engine that lets you upload and play back PowerPoint files directly — no conversion, no export to video required. Slides, transitions, animations, and embedded media are all rendered natively.
Uploading a PPTX File
Drag and drop a .pptx file into the Library, or click Upload and select the file. Only .pptx format is supported — legacy .ppt files are not compatible.
Once processed, the file appears in your library as a presentation asset with a slide-count badge.
Legacy .ppt files are not supported. Open them in PowerPoint, save as .pptx, then upload.
Casting a Presentation
- Click the presentation asset in the Library
- Click Cast to send it to your connected display
- The Presentation Controls bar appears at the bottom of the screen with Prev / Next navigation and a current slide indicator
Navigating Slides
| Method | Action |
|---|---|
| Prev / Next buttons | Step one slide at a time |
| Left / Right arrow keys | Same as Prev / Next |
| Web Player arrow keys | Works in the Web Player — slide state syncs back to Vū Studio |
Slide position is synchronized across Vū Studio, the Remote app, Vū Media Server, and the Web Player in real time.
Supported PPTX Content
- Text and shapes (fonts, colors, gradients)
- Images (embedded and linked)
- Embedded videos (play automatically on slide entry)
- Slide transitions
- Entrance and exit animations
- Slide backgrounds (solid, gradient, image)
- Visual adjustments: temperature, tint, treat-black-as-transparency
Faster Loading
PPTX files load faster through caching. Once a presentation has been loaded on a machine, casting it again resumes playback quickly rather than reprocessing from scratch. More powerful machines can cache more presentations at once; the most recently viewed presentation loads the fastest.
Auto-Advance When Media Ends
PPTX, video, and gallery elements support an On Media End action trigger. Instead of firing an action on click, you can set an action — such as Go to Page — to fire automatically when the media finishes. For example, a PowerPoint element can automatically advance to another page when the presentation ends.
Slide Linking
The PPTX engine supports links between slides. Tapping or clicking an asset that links to another slide navigates to the linked slide.
Rendering Accuracy and Odd Slide Sizes
Rendering accuracy has been improved for a range of presentation content. Presentations authored at non-16:9 aspect ratios (for example, 4:3) are fitted to the current screen's frame so the entire presentation stays visible, letterboxed if needed, without losing content. You can then crop, scale, or use treat-black-as-transparency to adjust the look.
Using PPTX in Scenes and Experiences
PPTX assets can be used as the primary asset in a scene, or set as a background or overlay layer alongside other content. They can also be used in Experiences as part of a multi-asset composition.
Visual Adjustments
Like other assets, PPTX files support visual adjustments (color temperature, tint, opacity, treat-black-as-transparency) configurable from the Adjustments panel while the asset is active.
