Connected Apps
Connected Apps let Vū AI work with the tools you already use — your calendar, email, chat, task tracker, and storage. Once an app is connected, you can ask Vū AI things like "what's on my calendar tomorrow", "summarize the unread mail from my team", or "what's left in this epic", and it can act on those apps when you ask it to.
Connected Apps power the Daily Brief and are available to all Vū Studio users.
Where to Find It
Connected Apps live inside Vū AI at https://one.vu.studio/ai (left sidebar → AI).
At the bottom of the Vū AI conversation sidebar you'll see the Connected Apps strip:
- If you have nothing connected yet, it reads Connect your apps. Select it to open the app browser.
- Once you have apps connected, the strip shows their logos with a Manage affordance. Select it to open the same browser.
You can also reach it from vu.ai Settings → Connected Apps, and Vū AI will offer a connect prompt directly in the chat when a request needs an app you haven't linked yet.
The window is titled App Connections, with the subtitle "Connect your apps so vu.ai can use them for you."
Browsing and Searching Apps
The window has two parts:
- Connected · N — pinned at the top so what's already active reads at a glance.
- Add apps — the browsable catalog of roughly a thousand integrations, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Docs, Slack, Jira, GitHub, LinkedIn, and Google Analytics.
Use the search box (Search N integrations…) to narrow the list. The grid shows a page worth of apps at a time — if there are more matches than fit, you'll see Showing X of Y — search to narrow it down. Searching still reaches the whole catalog, not just what's on screen, so type the app name if you don't see it.
The heading above the grid changes to Results while a search is active. If nothing matches, you'll see No integrations match "…".
The Three Kinds of App
Not every app connects the same way. What you'll be asked for depends on how that app handles sign-in.
| Kind | How you can tell | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| One-click | No hint under the app name | Select the app, authorize in the popup, done — nothing to type. |
| Needs your credentials | Tile reads Needs your credentials | Select the app and a secure connect page asks for your own details for that service — typically an API key, and sometimes an instance URL or account identifier. The page names the exact fields. |
| Request from support | Tile reads Request from support | Vū has to enable this one before anyone can connect it. Selecting it opens a short dialog with the request email instead of a connect button. |
Request-only apps are kept out of the default browse grid so they don't clutter it, but they appear as soon as a search matches one — so searching for an app you don't see will still find it. When request-only results are on screen, a line under the grid explains: "Some results need Vū to enable them first — select one to request it."
Requesting an app
Selecting a request-only app opens a dialog explaining that the app needs to be set up by Vū before anyone can connect it. It shows support@vustudio.com as readable text with a Copy button, and selecting the address opens a message with the subject and app details already filled in. Use whichever suits you — the address works even if your computer has no mail app configured.
Connecting an App
- Open Connected Apps from the Connect your apps / Manage strip in the Vū AI sidebar.
- Find the app — browse the grid, or search for it by name.
- Select the app's tile. A popup window opens to that service's authorization page.
- Approve access (or enter your credentials, for a Needs your credentials app).
- The popup closes and the app moves up into the Connected section.
Once the connection is live, Vū AI can use it immediately. If you started from an in-chat connect prompt, Vū AI picks the conversation back up on its own once the app is usable.
Connecting an app lets Vū AI read from it to answer your questions and build your Daily Brief. It doesn't act on your behalf — sending mail, creating tickets, and similar actions — unless you ask it to.
Managing Connected Apps
Each app in the Connected section shows the account you linked (for example, the email address or handle), so you can confirm you connected the right one.
- Reconnect — re-runs the authorization for that app. Use this if the connection has gone stale or you want to switch to a different account.
- Disconnect — removes the linked account. Vū AI stops being able to read or act on that app.
- Refresh — re-reads your connections and the catalog, useful if you've just changed something.
- Close — closes the window.
One account per app
Vū Studio keeps one linked account per app. Connecting an app you've already connected replaces the existing account rather than adding a second one alongside it — so switching from a personal to a work Gmail is just a matter of selecting Reconnect and authorizing the other account.
Troubleshooting
The window says "Integrations aren't configured on this environment." Connected Apps hasn't been enabled for the environment you're signed in to. Contact your Vū administrator or support@vustudio.com.
I connected an app but Vū AI says it can't use it. Select Refresh in the App Connections window to re-read your connections, then try the request again. If it persists, Reconnect the app.
I can't find an app in the catalog. Search for it by name rather than scrolling — the grid is capped but search covers the full catalog. If it appears with Request from support, it needs Vū to enable it first; use the request dialog to ask.
The connect popup closed before I finished. Nothing is linked until authorization completes. Select the app again to start over.
