Present Mode
Present Mode is a full-screen interactive playback environment for canvas designs. It lets you run a multi-page design as a polished, audience-ready presentation directly from Vū Studio — no additional hardware or software required.
Launching Present Mode
There are two ways to enter Present Mode:
From the Canvas Designer: Click the Present button in the top toolbar. The current design opens full-screen immediately.
From the Experiences page: Click the Launch Canvas Design button on an experience card. In the dialog, choose Launch Local to open the design in Present Mode on your current device, or Cast to Wall to send it directly to a connected player without occupying your screen.
Navigating Pages
Use the on-screen navigation controls to move between pages:
- Next / Previous arrows advance or go back one page
- Page list — click any page thumbnail in the navigation panel to jump directly to it
- Keyboard: Left/Right arrow keys navigate pages; Escape exits Present Mode
Interactive Actions
Elements in a canvas design can have Actions configured — behaviors that fire when the element is clicked during playback. Supported actions include:

| Hide | Hides a visible element |
| Toggle | Flips an element between shown and hidden |
| Auto-disappear | Shows the element, then automatically hides it after a set duration; it becomes available again on next interaction |
| Go to page | Jumps to a specific page in the design |
| Play / Pause | Controls playback of video or carousel elements |
| Open web link | Opens a URL full-screen in a dedicated browser window above the OS |
Actions are configured in the Actions section of the Properties panel in the Canvas Designer.
Page-Level Inactivity Timeout
Individual pages can be configured with an inactivity timeout — if no interaction occurs within the set period, the page automatically navigates to a specified target page. This is useful for kiosk designs where you want to return to a home screen after a period of inactivity. Configure it in the page's settings panel in the Canvas Designer.
Carousels in Present Mode
Image carousel elements advance automatically at their configured interval. Hover over a carousel to pause auto-advance. Click the left/right arrows on the carousel to navigate manually.
Exiting Present Mode
Click the × (close) button in the top-right corner, or press Escape, to exit Present Mode and return to where you launched from:
- Launched from the editor → returns to the Canvas Designer
- Launched from Experiences → returns to the Experiences page
Preview vs Full-Screen
When launched from the Canvas Designer with the Preview option, Present Mode runs in a windowed preview rather than full screen. This lets you check interactions without leaving the editor context. Full-screen mode is used for actual presentations.
