Vū Studio Release — April 28, 2026

· 7 min read

This release delivers native PowerPoint support, a redesigned display dashboard for multi-system management, and an extensive set of stability and experience improvements across Vū Studio.

Planned maintenance window: Scheduled for the afternoon on release day. There should be no interruption to website availability or your online account.

Highlights

PowerPoint Presentations — Vū Studio now includes a fully native PPTX rendering engine. Upload and play back PowerPoint files directly, with synchronized slide navigation across Vū Studio, Remote, Vū Media Server, and Web Player. Slides, embedded content, and visual adjustments are all supported. (VU-1603, VU-2323, VU-2544, VU-2546, VU-2547, VU-2555, VU-2565)

New Display Dashboard — The display dashboard has been redesigned for managing content across multiple systems without requiring an active connection. Assign content to displays within a group, monitor online/offline status in real time, and send everything live on command. Scenes can now be cast directly from the dashboard to all displays. (VU-2384, VU-2561, VU-2274)

Improvements

Animated Background Designer — A new designer tool is available for creating animated background visuals directly within Vū Studio. (VU-2299, VU-2578)

Asset Thumbnails — Thumbnails in the library now reflect applied asset adjustments such as color, exposure, and contrast. Scene thumbnails show the actual layer composition. Thumbnail aspect ratio can optionally match the active display. (VU-2522)

Undo/Redo — Vū Studio now supports a robust undo/redo system for reversing and reapplying recent actions. (VU-2552)

Sony AM7 Camera Support — The Sony AM7 camera is now supported for use with Vū Media Server. (VU-2459)

NDI Audio — NDI streams with audio now pass audio through to Vū Media Server. (VU-2574)

Reorder Lights in Remote — Lights and light groups can now be reordered in the Remote by dragging. Order persists across sessions. (VU-2317)

Transfer Team Ownership — Team owners can now designate another member as the team owner. (VU-2326)

Sort Folders by Recently Used or Creation Date — Top-level folders can now be sorted by most recently used or by creation date. Sort preferences are saved across devices. (VU-2383, VU-2416)

Improved Folder Search — Folder search results are now more accurate and reliable. (VU-2519)

Team Member Autocomplete When Sharing — The email field in the sharing dialog now suggests matching team members as you type. (VU-2513)

Upload Progress as Notifications — Upload status is now shown as toast notifications in the bottom right of the screen, rather than cards in the media grid. (VU-2432)

Team Profile Auto-Switch — Purchasing or joining a team now automatically switches your active profile to that team. (VU-2450)

Sleep All / Wake All in Display Dashboard — A new option to sleep or wake all connected displays at once is available in the display dashboard. (VU-2561)

Web Player Presentation Controls — The Web Player can now advance or navigate PPTX slides using arrow keys, with current slide state synced back to Vū Studio. (VU-2565)

Dynamic Asset Source Quick Edit — A new button in the experience asset modal allows editing a dynamic asset's source or jumping to it in the library. (VU-2573)

Loop Indicator for Videos in Scenes — The Remote now makes it clear that videos within scenes always loop. (VU-2444)

Kiosk Touch Improvements — Context menus no longer appear when holding a finger on sliders, asset previews, or folder thumbnails on touch and kiosk devices. Scrolling through the lighting tab by dragging vertically on sliders is now supported without changing slider values. (VU-2489)

Fixes

In some cases, animation assets did not apply correct shader adjustments, causing them to appear upside down or washed out. (VU-2580)

Certain text elements in PPTX files were not rendered correctly in Vū Studio. (VU-2577)

PPTX files set as overlay or background were sometimes visible in Remote but did not appear on Vū Media Server. (VU-2571)

When navigating between PPTX files using keyboard arrow keys, the slide index could occasionally become out of sync between Remote and Vū Media Server. (VU-2570)

Embedded videos within PPTX files could display as a black screen in Remote and on Vū Media Server while playing correctly in the player. (VU-2569)

Visual adjustments applied to PPTX assets — including temperature, tint, and treat-black-as-transparency — sometimes did not reflect in Vū Studio. (VU-2564)

Under certain circumstances, casting a PPTX file could intermittently fail or take an unusually long time to load. (VU-2560)

Pixel map state was not always stored correctly, which could lead to state mismatches after page reloads. (VU-2557, VU-2509)

The mouse cursor occasionally flickered while casting an asset on Vū Media Server. (VU-2542)

Lighting changes made during a session sometimes did not persist after disconnecting and reconnecting. (VU-2541, VU-2539)

Scene data could save correctly but fail to recall the correct asset positions and scale when replaying a scene. (VU-2536)

Hide/Show and Lock states for assets in scenes were not persisted after a page refresh. (VU-2532)

Additional assets did not load when scrolling to the bottom of a folder. (VU-2530)

When an unsupported file type was uploaded, the delete icon was not shown and the error message link was not visually styled as clickable. (VU-2525)

Generating a video using library assets in Vū AI could occasionally produce an error related to file size limits in the generation service. (VU-2524)

FreeD tracking did not work correctly with 2D layer depth in certain environments. (VU-2521)

YouTube videos could auto-pause immediately after attempting to resume playback on Vū Media Server. (VU-2514)

Pixel mapping sometimes did not begin reacting to light inputs until a slider was manually adjusted. (VU-2507)

In some configurations, backgrounds and overlays interfered with the Vū Media Server layer targeting system, causing adjustments to affect the wrong layer. (VU-2504)

Memory usage in the watchdog service and relay server could grow over time without releasing. (VU-2503, VU-2502)

Click events from Vū Studio were sometimes not received by webviews in multilayer scenes. (VU-2495)

In multilayer scenes, adjustments made to one layer could occasionally affect a different layer on Vū Media Server. (VU-2494)

Server stability has been improved; crashes that occurred without producing log entries have been addressed. (VU-2491, VU-2488)

Saved light configuration in scene presets was not always restored when switching between presets. (VU-2487)

Scene depth focal length adjustment had no visible effect in some configurations. (VU-2486)

On mobile, the sidebar did not close after navigating to a folder. New users also could not expand personal or team folder sections until at least one folder existed. (VU-2485)

Text assets displayed a black screen instead of rendering on Vū Media Server. (VU-2483)

Scenes configured as themes did not always play back with the correct layer order or visibility when cast through the theme system. (VU-2477)

After searching inside a folder in the Select Media modal with no results, navigating back could result in an empty main folder view. (VU-2474)

The Select Media modal could sometimes display assets from a previously opened folder when returning to the main folder view. (VU-2473)

Remote was displaying the playback time of a background video instead of the main video. (VU-2470)

Navigating back to the first asset in a list could occasionally jump back to the second asset automatically when that asset was a scene. (VU-2445)

Users signing in with a Microsoft account could encounter a login error in certain configurations. (VU-2438)

The Vū Media Server MQTT connection occasionally failed to establish, which could prevent some connection types from functioning. (VU-2420)

After switching from 360 mode, Vū Media Server could remain in 360 mode when a 2D asset was cast, while Remote correctly showed the 2D view. (VU-2415)

The "Exit on Playback" end behavior was not applied on Vū Media Server in some configurations, causing videos to loop instead of exit. (VU-2398)

The environment switcher in the operator menu could corrupt application install files in some cases, preventing the app from launching. (VU-2572)

Vū Studio could sometimes appear connected to Vū Media Server when the connection was actually stale. (VU-2508)
