System Requirements

Vū Media Server (Windows Machine)

The Vū Media Server requires a Windows PC connected directly to your display. The following are minimum requirements for running a single 4K display without add-ons like Cinema or Lighting automation.

Important

These are absolute minimum specs for basic operation. Additional screens, higher resolutions, or add-on packages (Cinema, Lighting) will require a more powerful system. Contact Vū if you're unsure what you need.

Minimum Requirements

ComponentMinimum Spec
OSWindows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
CPUAMD Ryzen 9 or Intel Core i7 or higher
RAM16 GB or greater
Storage1 TB available disk space
GPUAMD Radeon 780M or NVIDIA GTX 1050 or higher
Network100 Mbps wired connection (minimum); 500 Mbps+ recommended

Network Notes

  • A hardwired Ethernet connection is strongly recommended. Wi-Fi introduces latency that can affect real-time control and media streaming.
  • Network speed requirements also depend on media size. Still images at average resolution work on slower connections; 4K video of longer lengths require significantly faster bandwidth.
