Team Plan Troubleshooting

This page covers the three things people most often ask about a Team plan: why storage and tokens can look unchanged after an upgrade, how team invites and folder shares match email addresses, and what to expect when you switch subscription plans.

Storage and Tokens Not Increasing After Upgrade

The Problem

You've upgraded to a Team plan but your storage limit and AI token balance look the same as before. Uploading media still fails with a storage limit error, or AI features still show limited token availability.

Why This Happens

When you upgrade to a Team plan, your Personal plan remains active alongside the new Team plan. Vū Studio should automatically switch you to the team profile when you join a team — but in some cases you have to select it manually. Until you switch, you're still operating under your personal plan's limits.

Think of it like having two accounts available — a personal one and a team one. The team's resources only apply when you're actively using the team profile.

How to Fix It

Switch your active profile to the Team profile:

  1. Open Vū Studio at one.vu.studio
  2. Find the Profile selector — it's in one of two places:
    • Top right corner of the application (near your avatar)
    • Bottom left corner of the sidebar
  3. Click the profile selector and choose your Team profile
  4. Your storage, tokens, and team features will now be active

Vū Studio remembers your selected profile between sessions, so you only need to switch once.

Team Invites and Folder Shares Are Not Case Sensitive

What to expect. Vū Studio matches email addresses without regard to capitalization, both when you invite someone to a team and when you share a folder. Jane.Doe@Example.com, jane.doe@example.com, and JANE.DOE@EXAMPLE.COM are all treated as the same person, so an address typed with different capitalization than the one your teammate registered with still reaches them and still links to their existing Vū Studio account.

This applies in both places addresses are typed:

  • Team invites — on the Profile page (one.vu.studio/profile — click the Vū Studio icon to go Home, then open the profile menu and click Account), find the Team Members section and click Invite Users. In the Invite to Team dialog, type addresses into Add people by email, choose Member or Admin, and click Send Invite.
  • Folder shares — open the share dialog for a folder (its title reads Share followed by the folder name), type addresses into Add people by email, choose Editor or Viewer, and send. Existing recipients are listed under People with access.

What to check.

  • Addresses are stored and displayed in lowercase. A pending invite or an entry under People with access showing jane.doe@example.com when you typed Jane.Doe@Example.com is correct and is the same recipient — not a second, separate one.
  • Duplicates are caught regardless of capitalization. If you re-invite someone who already has a pending invite, or re-share a folder with someone who already has access, Vū Studio recognises the existing entry rather than creating a parallel one. An "already been invited to this team" message means the original invite is still outstanding — resend or cancel that one instead of sending a new one.
  • The address still has to be the right address. Case no longer matters, but spelling and domain do. If an invite does not arrive, check the spelling, then ask the recipient to look in their spam folder.
  • You still cannot invite yourself or an existing member. Those are rejected with a message saying so; they are not casing problems.

Changing Your Subscription Plan

What to expect. When you switch plans, the change is applied to your subscription and recorded against your account — you do not need to switch twice, cancel and re-subscribe, or contact support to make it stick.

The flow, from the Profile page (one.vu.studio/profile — profile menu → Account):

  1. Open the plan chooser — the Upgrade button in the top bar opens Select Your Plan, which lists the available plans side by side (Individual, Studio Lite, Studio Pro).
  2. Your existing plan is marked Current Plan and cannot be selected. Click Select Plan on the one you want.
  3. A confirmation dialog names the plan you picked — Switch plan to Studio Pro?, for example — and states the new rate and billing interval. Click Confirm Change to apply it, or Cancel to go back to the plan list.
  4. Vū Studio returns you to the Profile page once the change has been applied.

What to check afterwards.

  • The Your Plan tile on the Profile page should show the new plan name. That tile is the record of what you are on now.
  • The plan list should mark the new plan as Current Plan the next time you open Select Your Plan.
  • Resource limits follow the plan, not the moment. Storage and AI token allowances shown in your resource tiles reflect the plan now on the account. If you are also on a team, remember that team resources only apply while you are in the Team profile — see Storage and Tokens Not Increasing After Upgrade above.
  • Billing detail lives in the billing portal. Use the Manage link on the Your Plan tile to open the Stripe billing portal for invoices, payment method, and the exact proration on this change.
  • If you switched to the free plan, the confirmation dialog says so explicitly: the subscription is cancelled at the end of the current billing period rather than immediately, and the Your Plan tile shows Cancels at the end of this billing period until then.

If a switch appears not to have taken effect, reload the page first — then check the Your Plan tile rather than the plan list, and contact support with your account email if the two disagree.

See Plans & Billing →.

Still Not Working?

If you've switched to the Team profile and storage or tokens still seem incorrect, or an invite, share, or plan change still doesn't look right:

  1. Try refreshing the browser (F5 or Cmd+R)
  2. Log out and back in to clear any cached session state
  3. Contact support at support@vustudio.com or call +1 (888) 575-1510
